A.
The
Aldermen are individual representatives of their Wards elected by
the people. They represent the City of Hollister as a complete legislative
body.
B.
No
person shall be an Alderman unless he/she be at least twenty-one (21)
years of age, a citizen of the United States, and an inhabitant and
resident of the City for one (1) year next preceding his/her election,
and a resident of the Ward from which he/she is elected.
C.
They
must also be registered voters and no person shall be elected to any
office who shall at the time be in arrears for any unpaid City taxes,
or forfeitures or defalcation in office.
D.
All
members of the Board shall hold their office for a term of two (2)
years.

The members of the Board of Aldermen shall be two (2) in number
from each Ward of the City.

The members of the Board of Aldermen shall receive three hundred
seventy-five dollars ($375.00) monthly compensation for their services
payable out of the general revenue of the City effective April 1,
2016.
