A.
The 2018 International Residential Code, including Appendix E, Manufactured Housing Used as Dwelling, as published by the International Code Council, is hereby adopted as the Residential Code of the City of Hollister for regulating the design, construction, quality of materials, erection, installation, alteration, repair, location, replacement, addition to, use or maintenance of residential dwelling systems, their appurtenances and accessory structures in the City of Hollister providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefore; all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of said 2018 International Residential Code, including Appendix E, are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in this Article, with the additions, insertions, deletions, and changes, if any, prescribed in Section 500.065 of this Chapter, This code shall take effect and be implemented for all projects submitted for permit or plan review after April 1, 2018.
B.
In the event any Sections of the 2018 International Residential Code,
shall be in conflict with the Code of the City of Hollister, City
ordinances shall take precedence, unless otherwise specified.
C.
Dwelling Unit Fire Sprinkler Systems. Dwelling unit fire sprinkler
systems shall be required in any single-family dwelling or town home
in any commercial zoning district or Planned Development District
where the rental or occupancy of such would be for a time increment
of less than thirty (30) days — nightly or weekly rental, timeshare,
fractional ownership, etc. Where installed, residential fire sprinkler
systems, or portions thereof, shall be in accordance with NFPA 13D
or Section P2904 of the 2018 International Residential Code, which
shall be considered equivalent to NFPA 13D. Section P2904 of the 2018
International Residential Code shall apply to stand-alone and multi-purpose
wet-pipe sprinkler systems that do not include the use of antifreeze.
A multi-purpose fire sprinkler system shall supply domestic water
to both fire sprinklers and plumbing fixtures. A stand-alone sprinkler
system shall be separate and independent from the water distribution
system. A backflow flow preventer shall not be required to separate
a stand-alone sprinkler system from the water distribution system.

are hereby revised as follows:
Section 101.1 Insert: City of Hollister.

Section 105.2 Work exempt from permit. Amend: #1, #7 and Delete
#2 under Building: as follows:

1. One-story detached accessory structures used as tool and
storage sheds, playhouses and similar use, provided the floor area
does not exceed one hundred twenty (120) square feet.

2. Delete: Fences not over seven (7) feet (2,134 mm) high.

7. Storable swimming pools as defined in Section 4201.2 that
are less than forty-two (42) inches deep.

Any person, persons, firm, partnership, or corporation violating
any provisions of this Article shall upon conviction thereof be fined
not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment in
the County Jail for not more than ninety (90) days, or by both such
fine and imprisonment. Each day this Article or any part thereof is
violated shall be and constitute a separate offense and violations
of this Article for which they may be punished.
