A.
A grinder
pump is a pump used to lift sewage from a lower elevation to a higher
elevation to enable sewage to gravity flow into the sewer system.
B.
Costs. On any grinder pump placed into operation after December
1, 2004, all costs to furnish, install, maintain, replace as necessary,
put in operation and operate shall be the responsibility of the property
owner. The City will maintain all approved grinder pumps that were
connected to the City's central sewer collection system prior to December
1, 2004.
C.
Low-Pressure Sewer System. Any grinder pump installed in
the low-pressure system shall be semi-positive displacement type.
No grinder pump, other than those approved by the City, shall be installed
as a part of any low-pressure sewer system within the City. Acceptable
grinder pump, manufacturers and specifications can be picked up from
the Public Works Department or other designated City departments.
D.
Acceptable
manufacturer's list will be approved by the Board of Aldermen and
be on file at City Hall.
