Township of Maplewood, NJ Article VII Repair of Vehicles in Right-of-Way

§ 239-43 Repair prohibited except for emergency.

The repair of automobiles, trucks or other motor vehicles in the public right-of-way within the Township of Maplewood be and is hereby prohibited except for emergency repairs.

§ 239-44 Definitions.

As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:

EMERGENCY REPAIRS

Any repair which disables the automobile, truck or motor vehicle.

§ 239-45 Length of time for repair.

Emergency repairs shall not exceed four hours and only so long as the vehicles is located in an area that does not constitute a hazard or unreasonable interference to pedestrian or motor vehicle traffic.

§ 239-46 Violations and penalties.

Any person or entity found in violation of article shall be subject to a fine as follows:

A. First offense: $250.

B. Second offense: $500.

C. Third or any subsequent offense: $1,000.
