A. A certain document, one (1) copy of which was placed on file in the
office of the City Clerk, said copy being marked and designated as
the International Fire Code, including Appendixes B and F, 2015 Edition,
as published by the International Code Council, as amended, be and
is hereby adopted as the Fire Code of the City; and all of the regulations,
provisions, penalties, conditions, and terms of the International
Fire Code, 2015 Edition, as published by the International Code Council,
are hereby referred to, adopted and made part thereof, as if fully
set out in this Article with the additions, insertions, deletions,
and changes prescribed in this Article.
B. Jurisdictional Titles Throughout the International Fire Code, 2015
Edition, as published by the International Code Council. Wherever
the terms "Name of Jurisdiction" or "Local Jurisdiction" appear, it
shall be deemed to mean "City of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri."
C. Wherever the term "Department of Fire Prevention" appears it shall
be deemed to mean the department consisting of the City Engineer and
the Code Enforcement officer of the City of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri,
and their designees.
D. Wherever the term "Fire Code Official" appears, it shall mean the
City Engineer or the Code Enforcement Officer of the City.

A. The International Fire Code, 2015 Edition, as published by the International
Code Council, is amended by additions, deletions and changes, including
the changing of Articles, Sections, Subsections and Subsection titles
and the addition of new Sections and Subsections so that such amended
and added Articles, Sections and Subsections read as follows:

Chapter 1 Scope And Administration.
a.
Section 101 General.
(1) 101.1 Title. These regulations shall
be known as the "Fire Code of the City of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri,"
hereinafter referred to as "this code."
b.
Section 102 Applicability.
(1) 102.4 Application of building code. The design and construction of new structures shall comply with
the International Building Code or International Residential Code
based on the scope of the respective code. Any alterations, additions,
changes in use or changes in structures required by this code shall
comply with the International Existing Building Code or International
Residential Code based on the scope of the respective code.
c.
Section 103 Department Of Building Safety.
(1) 103.2 Appointment. The fire code official
shall be appointed as provided by ordinance.
d.
Section 105 Permits.
(1) 105.4.1 Submittals. Construction documents
and supporting data shall be submitted, as required by the fire code
official, with each application for a permit and in such form and
detail as required by the fire code official. The construction documents
shall be prepared by a registered design professional where required
by the statutes of the jurisdiction in which the project is to be
constructed.
Exception:
The fire code official is authorized to waive the submission
of construction documents and supporting data not required to be prepared
by a registered design professional if it is found that the nature
of the work applied for is such that review of construction documents
is not necessary to obtain compliance with this code.
(2) 105.7 Required construction permits. The fire code official is authorized to issue construction permits
for work as set forth in Sections 105.7.1 through 105.7.18. The term
"construction permit" shall mean building permit and shall follow
the requirements of Section 105 of the Building Code in addition to
the requirements of this code.
e.
Section 106 Inspections.
(1) 106.90 Workmanship. All work shall
be executed in a workmanlike and skilled manner so that, for example,
floors are level, walls are plumb and square, windows and doors are
plumb, square and easily operable, exterior building envelopes are
weathertight and exclude the elements, building materials are undamaged,
and surfaces are unmarred. All work performed shall be in compliance
with this code, per industry standards, and in accordance with the
manufacturer's installation instructions.
f.
Section 108 Means Of Appeal.
(1) 108.1 General. For the purposes of
this code, all appeals shall be in accordance with the procedure established
for the Building Code of the City of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri.
(2) 108.2 Limitations on authority. Delete
in its entirety.
(3) 108.3 Qualifications. Delete in its
entirety.
g.
Section 109 Violations.
(1) 109.4 Violation penalties. Delete
in its entirety.
h.
Section 111 Stop-Work Order.
(1) 111.2 Issuance. A stop-work order
shall be in writing and shall be given to the owner of the property
involved, or to the owner's authorized agent, or to the person
performing the work. Upon issuance of a stop-work order, the cited
work shall immediately cease. The stop-work order shall state the
reason for the order and the conditions under which the cited work
will be permitted to resume. Any person served with a stop-work order
shall pay an administrative penalty of up to two hundred fifty dollars
($250.00).
(2) 111.4 Failure to comply. Any person who shall continue any work after having been served with a stop-work order, except such work as that person is directed to perform to remove a violation or unsafe condition, shall be subject to the violations and penalties set forth in Section
500.117 of the Municipal Code.

Chapter 11 Construction Requirements For Existing Buildings.
a.
Section 1103 Fire Safety Requirements For Existing Buildings.
(1) 1103.5.3 Group I-2 Condition 2. In
addition to the requirements of Section 1103.5.2, existing buildings
of Group I-2 Condition 2 occupancy shall be equipped throughout with
an approved automatic sprinkler system in accordance with Section
903.3.1.1. The automatic sprinkler system shall be installed as established
by the local fire district and the State of Missouri.
3.
Chapter 56 Explosives And Fireworks.
a.
Section 5601 General.
(1) 5601.1.3 Fireworks. Fireworks shall
comply with the Ordinances of the City of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri.
b.
Section 5609 Temporary Storage Of Consumer Fireworks.
(1) 5609.1 General. Delete in its entirety.
4.
Chapter 57 Flammable And Combustible Liquids.
a.
Section 5704 Storage.
(1) 5704.2.9.6.1 Locations where aboveground
tanks are prohibited. Storage of Class I and II liquids in
aboveground tanks outside of buildings is prohibited as defined by
the applicable ordinance of the fire district having competent jurisdiction.
b.
Section 5706 Special Operations.
(1) 5706.2.4.4 Locations where aboveground tanks
are prohibited. The storage of Class I and II liquids in aboveground
tanks is prohibited as defined by the applicable ordinance of the
fire district having competent jurisdiction.
5.
Chapter 58 Flammable Gases And Flammable Cryogenic Fluids.
a.
Section 5806 Flammable Cryogenic Fluids.
(1) 5806.2 Limitations. Storage of flammable
cryogenic fluids in stationary containers outside of buildings is
prohibited within the limits established by law as the limits as defined
by the applicable ordinance of the fire district having competent
jurisdiction.
6.
Chapter 61 Liquified Petroleum Gases.
a.
Section 6104 Location Of LP-Gas Containers.
(1) 6104.2 Maximum capacity within established
limits. As defined by the applicable ordinance of the fire
district having competent jurisdiction, limits established by law
restricting the storage of liquefied petroleum gas for the protection
of heavily populated or congested areas, the aggregate capacity of
any one (1) installation shall not exceed a water capacity of two
thousand (2,000) gallons (7570 L).

Any person violating any of the provisions of the Code adopted
in this Article shall be deemed in violation of this Article and upon
conviction thereof shall be fined in an amount not exceeding five
hundred dollars ($500.00) or be imprisoned for a period not exceeding
ninety (90) days, or both such fine and imprisonment. Each day such
violation is committed or permitted to continue shall constitute a
separate offense and shall be punishable as such hereunder.
