A. 
The Saint Louis County Construction and Property Codes, as amended by the County of Saint Louis, Missouri, through date of last amendatory ordinances are hereby adopted as the Construction and Property Codes of the City of Velda City as follows:
1. 
The 2015 Edition of the International Code Council (ICC) Building Code as adopted by St. Louis County in County Ordinance 27,654 and approved December 18, 2019, one (1) copy which is on file in the office of the City Clerk, is hereby adopted as the City of Velda City Building Code, as is fully set out herein.
2. 
The 2015 Edition of the ICC Existing Building Code as adopted by St. Louis County in County Ordinance 27,654 and approved December 18, 2019, one (1) copy which is on file in the office of the City Clerk, is hereby adopted as the City of Velda City Existing Building Code, as is fully set out herein.
3. 
The 2015 Edition of the ICC Residential Code as adopted by St. Louis County in County Ordinance 27,654 and approved December 18, 2019, one (1) copy which is on file in the office of the City Clerk, is hereby adopted as the City of Velda City Residential Code, as is fully set out herein.
4. 
Mechanical Code (including Fire Suppression Systems, Elevators and Conveying Systems, Amusement Rides and Periodic Inspections of Mechanical Equipment), Chapter 1108, SLCRO 27,619 (approved 12/05/19, adopted 04/01/20), as amended.

The 2015 Edition of the ICC Property Maintenance Code as adopted by St. Louis County in County Ordinance 27,617 and approved April 1, 2020, one (1) copy which is on file in the office of the City Clerk, is hereby adopted as the City of Velda City Property Maintenance Code, as is fully set out herein.
6. 
Plumbing Code, Chapter 1103, SLCRO 27,424 (approved 06/05/19, adopted 10/01/19), as amended.

7. 
The 2014 Edition of the National Electric Code as adopted by St. Louis County in County Ordinance 27,430 and approved June 18, 2019, one (1) copy which is on file in the office of the City Clerk, is hereby adopted as the City of Velda City Electrical Code, as is fully set out herein.
8. 
The St. Louis County Explosives Code, as adopted and last amended on September 14, 2004 (County Ordinance 22,015), one (1) copy which is on file in the office of the City Clerk, is hereby adopted as the City of Velda City Explosives Code, as is fully set out herein.

Nothing in this Article or in the code hereby adopted shall be construed to affect any suit or proceeding impending in any court or any rights acquired or liability incurred or any cause or causes of action acquired or existing under any act or ordinance hereby repealed as cited in Section 505.030 of this Chapter; nor shall any just or legal right or remedy of any character be lost, impaired or affected by this Chapter.

All other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.

Any person who shall violate a provision of this code or shall fail to comply with any of the requirements thereof or who shall erect, construct, alter or repair a building or structure in violation of an approved plan of or directive of the Code Official, or of a permit or certificate issued under the provision of this code, shall be guilty of an ordinance violation, punishable by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) or by imprisonment not exceeding ninety (90) days, or both such fine and imprisonment unless a lesser penalty is provided by State law. Each day that a violation continues after due notice has been served shall be deemed a separate offense.
