Borough of Pottstown, PA Part 13 Working on Motor Vehicles

§ 1301 Prohibiting the Performance of Certain Vehicle Repairs, Service and Maintenance.

1. The following repairs, service and maintenance to vehicles which are parked on the public streets, parking lots, alleys, thoroughfares or in municipally owned public areas of the Borough of Pottstown shall be prohibited at all times:

A. Removal or repair of transmissions.

B. Removal or repair of motors or motor accessories.

C. Removal or repair of rear ends.

D. Repair of front ends.

E. Except for the changing of tires, repair of any portion of the car which would involve the elevation of the car above the level of the street.

F. Changing of crankcase oil, transmission oil and lubrication of chassis.

G. Brake replacement.

H. Engine tune-ups.

I. Major body repairs.

§ 1302 Penalties.

Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any provisions of this Part shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine not more than $50 and, in default of said fine and costs, to undergo imprisonment for not more than five days. Second and subsequent violations may be charged under Chapter 21 of the Code of Ordinances.
