There is hereby established a local Council on Aging, consisting of 11 voting members who shall be appointed by the Select Board from the registered voters of the Town of Lunenburg.
The Chairman of the Council shall be elected by the members of the Council at the annual meeting in June.

The local Council on Aging shall be responsible to the Select Board, and its members shall serve without compensation and within the limits of available funds. It may appoint such clerks and other employees as it may require with the approval of the Town Manager. It shall be the duty of the local Council on Aging to carry out programs designed to meet the needs of the aging in coordination with programs of the Executive Office of Elder Affairs established by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and to submit an annual report to the Town and a copy thereof to said Executive Office.
