As used is this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated unless a different meaning clearly appears from the context:
DOMESTICATED HOUSEHOLD ANIMAL
Any animal normally or ordinarily domesticated or raised in this area and climate normally or ordinarily kept as a household pet and permitted to be at large within the dwelling of its owner or custodian.
NONDOMESTICATED ANIMAL
Any animal not normally or ordinarily domesticated or raised in this area and climate and not normally or ordinarily kept as a household pet and permitted to be at large within the dwelling or upon the property of its owner or custodian.
WILD ANIMAL
Any animal, bird, fowl, livestock or reptile not normally or ordinarily domesticated, or any animal not capable or permitted to be being kept as a household pet in or about the dwelling of its owner or custodian.
It shall be unlawful for any person to keep any nondomesticated or wild animal within or around the premises or any other location within the Borough of Collingdale except where the same shall be permitted for displays by or for public or private schools, sportsmen's organizations, youth organizations, civic associations, conservation camps or schools or another organization deemed appropriate upon prior approval of the Collingdale Borough Council.
A. 
Examples of such nondomesticated and/or wild animals would include, but not be limited to, alligators, crocodiles, farm animals, livestock, amphibious and aquatic reptiles, poisonous or constricting snakes, lizards, large nondomesticated cats, such as lions, tigers, leopards, jaguars, cheetahs, cougars, squirrels, chimpanzees, monkeys, baboons, turkeys, chickens, potbelly pigs, or any crossbreed of these animals which have similar characteristics in appearance or features as specified herein.
B. 
The possession, maintenance or harborage of any such nondomesticated or wild animal shall be viewed as a public nuisance as defined in the Code of the Borough of Collingdale.
No person while transporting a nondomesticated or wild animals as provided herein shall allow such animals to be transported except in secure carriers or cages while on public streets, alleys or public areas or upon private property within the limits of the Borough of Collingdale.
A. 
Carrying or transporting of any type of nondomesticated or wild animal by hand is prohibited.
Any police officer, animal control officer or health officer may seize any nondomesticated or wild animal found at large within the Borough of Collingdale. Such animals are to be impounded and/or disposed of in accordance with governmental ordinances pertaining thereto.
