A.
For any of the sections of this chapter which prohibit or restrict parking or standing in certain designated areas of the Borough, there shall be deemed to be tow-away zones when such prohibited or restricted parking or standing areas are duly posted by appropriate signage designating such areas as "tow-away zones." The sections of this chapter which so prohibit or restrict parking or standing are § 247-44, Schedule XIII: Parking in Semipublic Areas; § 247-45, Schedule XIV: Parking Prohibited at All Times; § 247-46, Schedule XV, No Stopping or Standing; § 247-47, Schedule XVI: Parking Prohibited Certain Hours; § 247-48, Schedule XVII: No Stopping or Standing Certain Hours; § 247-49, Schedule XVIII: Time Limit Parking; § 247-50, Schedule XIX: Angle Parking; § 247-51, Schedule XX: Handicapped Parking; § 247-52, Schedule XXI: Loading Zones; § 247-53, Schedule XXII: Taxi Stands; § 247-54, Schedule XXIII: Bus Stops; and § 247-55, Schedule XXIV: Snow Emergency No-Parking Areas.
B.
In accordance with the provisions of § 247-27.2, any unoccupied vehicle parked or standing in violation of posted tow-away zone signs in any of the above-referenced prohibited or restricted parking or standing areas shall be deemed a nuisance and a menace to the safe and proper regulation of traffic, and any peace officer may provide for the removal of such vehicle. The owner or driver shall pay the reasonable costs of the removal and storage which may result from such removal before regaining possession of the vehicle. A vehicle shall be deemed unoccupied if its duly licensed operator is not in immediate proximity to it.
