The words and phrases used in this article shall, for the purpose
of this article, have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by
Article 1 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York,
and the following words and phrases, which are not defined by Article
1 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York, shall have
the meanings respectively ascribed to them in this section for the
purposes of the parking provisions of this Village:
New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day,
Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Main Street and Genesee Street are interchangeable names
for the same Village highway.

Any person employed full- or part-time or designated as a
police officer for the Town of Camillus or for the Onondaga County
Sheriff's Department or for the New York State Police Department.

The parking of vehicles is hereby prohibited in any of the following
locations for a period longer than two hours between the hours of
6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday:
A.
Parking prohibited at certain locations during certain times. The
parking of vehicles is hereby prohibited in any of the following locations
during the times indicated:
(1)
On both sides of Main Street between the hours of 3:00 a.m. and 6:00
a.m. from November 1 to April 30 of each year.

On the north side of Genesee Street from its intersection with North
Street to a point 40 feet easterly of the entrance roadway to Camillus
Cutlery Company between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

northerly Village boundary line from November 1 to April 1 in each

Parking prohibited generally. The parking of vehicles is hereby prohibited

On the north side or east side of First Street.

On the west side of Meadow Lane.
(5)
On the west side of Leroy Street between First Street and Main Street
and on the west side of Leroy Street from the intersection of Green
Street and Leroy Street to a point 30 feet northerly therefrom.

C.
Parking of certain vehicles prohibited. Except for temporary loading
or unloading, the parking of all motor vehicles and/or trailers having
a total length equal to 20 feet or longer is prohibited in any of
the following locations at all hours:

D.
Odd-even parking only. Parking shall be prohibited at all times on
the following streets, except that on the odd-numbered side of said
streets parking will be permitted from 8:00 a.m. on each odd day of
the month until 7:59 a.m. of the following day and that on the even-numbered
side of said streets parking will be permitted from 8:00 a.m. on each
even-numbered day of the month until 7:59 a.m. on the following day:

Timber Ridge Drive.
The stopping of vehicles, except buses, is hereby prohibited
in any of the following locations:
A.
On the north side of Genesee Street between its intersection with
North Street and a point 50 feet east of the intersection of North
Street.
B.
On the south side of Main/Genesee Street from its intersection with
Leroy Street east to the Village line, except buses.

C.
On the north side of Main/Genesee Street from its intersection with
Bingham Place westerly approximately 170 feet to the driveway of the

A.
Angle parking. At all times that parking of motor vehicles is otherwise
authorized in the following locations, such vehicles shall be parked
at an angle with either the front of the vehicle or the rear of the
vehicle facing towards the center line of the roadway:
(1)
On the north side of Genesee Street from North Street to the extension
of Elm Street.
(2)
On the south side of Haney Lane easterly from a point that is 89
feet easterly from the intersection of Haney Lane and Mechanic Street.

(3)
On the east side of Feederbank Road from Genesee Street to the bridge
over the canal feeder.
B.
Parallel parking. Except where angle parking is authorized, every
vehicle stopped, standing or parked partly or wholly upon a highway
shall be so stopped, standing or parked parallel to the edge of the
roadway, headed in the direction of authorized traffic movement.
A.
Removal of illegally parked, abandoned, inoperable, unlicensed or
uninspected motor vehicles.

(1)
Public emergencies. When any vehicle is parked or abandoned on any
highway within this Village during a snowstorm, flood, fire or other
public emergency which affects that portion of the public highway
upon which said vehicle is parked or abandoned, such vehicle may be
removed by any police officer.
(2)
Removal generally. When any vehicle is found unattended on any highway
within this Village where said vehicle constitutes an obstruction
to traffic or when any vehicle is parked or abandoned on any highway
within this Village where stopping, standing or parking of such vehicle
is prohibited or when any vehicle is parked or abandoned on any sidewalk,
crosswalk or between the curb or lateral lines of any highway and
the adjacent property lines within this Village, said vehicle may
be removed by any police officer.
(3)
Whenever any vehicle is found on any street, highway, municipal land
or municipal parking lot within the Village of Camillus, which vehicle
is inoperable and/or unregistered and/or uninspected, or the registration
or inspection for which has expired, and/or which is without valid
and current license plates affixed to it, such vehicle may be removed
by any police officer.
B.
Storage of impounded vehicles; redemption; fees. After removal of any vehicle as provided in Subsection A of this section, such police officer shall cause such vehicle to be stored in a suitable place at the expense of the owner. Such owner or person in charge of the vehicle may redeem the same upon the payment of the amount of all expenses actually and necessarily incurred in effecting such removal, such charges not to exceed $15, together with any charges for storage, such storage charges not to exceed $2 per day or fraction thereof.
C.
Notification requirements. Such police officer shall, without delay, report the removal and the disposition of any vehicle removed as provided in Subsections A and B of this section to the Village Clerk, and it shall be the duty of the Village Clerk to ascertain, to the extent possible, the owner of the vehicle or person having charge of same and to notify him of the removal and disposition of such vehicle and of the amount which will be required to redeem said vehicle.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this article shall
be guilty of a traffic infraction and, upon conviction therefor, be
punishable by a fine not exceeding $25 for the first offense, by a
fine not exceeding the sum of $50 for the second offense and by a
fine not exceeding $250 or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days,
or both, for the third and any subsequent offenses.
