The storage of excelsior, shavings and scrap paper is prohibited unless compactly baled or stored in a noncombustible container or a fire-resistant storage room within a building.

Editor's Note: Former Section 1, Burning regulated, as amended 7-23-1984 by Ord. No. 515 and 8-25-1986 by Ord. No. 528, which immediately preceded this section, was repealed at time of adoption of Code (see Ch. 1, General Provisions, Art. I).
The storage of packing boxes, cartons or similar combustible containers other than in an enclosed fire-resistant room is prohibited, except in manufacturing and business establishments requiring such boxes or containers in connection with carrying on of its business, and then under such rules and regulations as may be established governing their storage in such manner as will reduce the fire hazards.
Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this article shall be subject to a minimum fine of $100 and maximum fine of $1,000, plus costs, for each and every offense, and in default of payment of such fine and costs, imprisonment for a term not exceeding 30 days.
