There is hereby created and established an arts Council consisting of five members, all of whom are Cumberland residents, with experience in the field of arts.

All members shall be appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Town Council.

All members shall serve a two-year appointment with the exception that the terms of the first appointees shall be staggered. Members can be reappointed.

The purpose of the Council will be to promote and encourage programs for the development of public awareness, enjoyment and interest in various art forms, our past, and our ethnicity, so as to maintain the special quality of life found in the Town.
