The parks and recreation commission, as created under § 1607 of the Charter, shall consist of seven members to be appointed by the Town Council upon the taking of office of the Town Council, to serve four-year terms or until their successors are appointed.

One member of the School Committee, one member of the Town Council
and one member of the department of public works, shall be ex officio
members of the parks and recreation commission. The ex officio members
shall be appointed by and serve the same term as the School Committee,
the Town Council and the director of the department of public works,
respectively. Ex officio members shall be non-voting members of the
commission.
