It shall be unlawful to engage in the business of drain layer or sewer builder in the City without having first secured a license therefor, as is herein provided. Applications for such license shall conform to the general provisions of the chapter on licenses.[1]

Drain layers and sewer builders who are licensed under the provisions of this article to do business may be required to furnish an annual bond in the sum of $10,000 by the Council and with sureties to be approved by the Council, conditioned to indemnify the City and hold it harmless from any loss, damage, claim or liability arising out of or resulting from the conduct or operation of such business or with the doings or failure to do any act in connection therewith.
The annual fee for a drain layer and sewer builder's license shall be $50.
It shall be the duty of the person licensed under the provisions of this article to comply with the ordinance provisions relating to connections with sewer systems and making excavations in streets, and to secure the permits required for these operations.[1]
