An independent auditor shall, by resolution, be appointed annually to make an independent examination of the accounting records of the Borough for each fiscal year in accordance with ยงย 1005(7) of the Borough Code[1] and to perform other duties and to exercise the powers as conferred upon said independent auditor by the Borough Code.

The office of elected Borough Auditor is hereby abolished, although the Borough Auditors presently in office shall continue to hold their office during the term for which elected, although the Borough Auditors shall not audit, settle or adjust the accounts audited by such independent auditor but shall perform the other duties of their office, all of which is in accordance with ยงย 1005(7) of the Borough Code.[1]
