It shall be the duty of all persons, whether they be owners or occupants, in control of any lot of ground, church, public building, house, residence, store, shop, stable, garage, showroom, manufacturing establishment or tenement of any kind, fronting upon or adjoining any of the streets of the Borough of Darby, to remove or cause to be removed all snow, sleet, slush or ice from the sidewalks fronting upon or adjoining said property as aforesaid within 12 hours after said snow shall have fallen or said sleet, slush or ice accumulated, and to keep the same clear of such snow, sleet, slush or ice.
To suffer or permit snow, sleet, slush or ice to remain on the sidewalks in violation of § 122-1 hereof is hereby declared to be a nuisance.

Any person who shall violate any provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable by a fine of not more than $300 and costs of such proceedings or, upon default of payment of such fines and costs, by imprisonment in the county jail for a term of not more than 30 days. The continuation of such violation for each successive day shall constitute a separate offense, and the person or persons allowing or permitting the continuation of the violation may be punished as provided above for each separate offense.
