With respect to that portion of Archer Drive from its intersection with State Trunk Highway 13 and running eastward until it becomes Aspen Avenue, the weight limit for all trucks operated by the Adams County Highway Department or which are engaged in hauling materials to and from the County quarry located on Aspen Avenue shall be set at the level allowed for Class A highways.
With respect to that portion of Aspen Avenue running from its origin easterly to County Trunk Highway W, the weight limit for all trucks operated by the Adams County Highway Department or which are engaged in hauling materials to and from the County quarry located on Aspen Avenue shall be set at the level allowed for Class A highways.
In the event that either the Town of Rome or the Town of Leola contends that a County Highway Department vehicle operating on Archer Drive or Aspen Avenue in either said town has damaged said Archer Drive or Aspen Avenue, the town may present a claim for damages to the County Highway Commissioner. If the Highway Commissioner determines that a valid claim has been presented, the Commissioner may request that the Highway Committee allow the claim. If the claim is allowed by the Highway Committee, the County may, at its option, repair the damage using County forces or reimburse the town for the cost of the repairs.
The weight limit provided in this article shall be suspended during the period when Class II highway restrictions are declared for Adams County or its vicinity by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, or at such other time as the Highway Commissioner determines that, as a result of thawing or flooding conditions, the road bed is soft and susceptible to damage.
