A.Â
The Mayor and Council shall adopt one or more ordinances to establish
specific salaries and/or salary ranges governing the amount to be
paid to various officials and employees of the Borough according to
the official/employee title or employment class. The specific salary
to be provided to each employee shall be set forth in a resolution
of the Mayor and Council.
B.Â
In addition the salaries provided for in the adopted salary guides,
the Mayor and Council may by resolution provide a separate bonus payment
to an employee in recognition of exemplary service to the Borough
or other similar circumstance, or if an employee is at the maximum
of the established salary guide and merits special recognition. This
bonus shall not be considered as a part of the employee's base salary
and shall not continue in future years. The total of any bonus payment
to an officer or employee shall not exceed 10% of the maximum amount
established in the Salary Ordinance adopted for the specific official
or employee class or title.
C.Â
The Salary Ordinance shall not be included in the codified Code of
Ordinances but shall be on file with the Borough Clerk of the Borough
of Mendham.
