Whenever a structure is demolished or removed the premises shall
be maintained free from unsafe or hazardous conditions by the proper
regulations of the lot, restoration of established grades and the
erection of any necessary retaining walls and fences.

A.
Before a structure can be demolished or removed, the owner or agent
shall notify all utilities having service connections within the structure
such as water, electric, gas, sewer and other connections. A permit
to demolish or remove a structure shall not be issued until a release
is obtained from the utilities, stating that their respective service
connections and appurtenant equipment, such as meters and regulators,
have been removed or sealed and plugged in a safe manner.

Demolition work shall be diligently and continuously pursued until
the demolition work is completed, once started. Demolition permits
may be issued by the Zoning Enforcement Officer for a period of thirty
(30) days. The Zoning Enforcement Officer may grant a thirty-day extension
of time for demolition permits for cause, when such extension request
is made in writing. Any further extension of time beyond sixty (60)
days is subject to review and approval by the Board of Aldermen. All
demolition sites shall be kept in a reasonably safe condition during
the demolition process and be properly posted and barricaded.
