An annual license tax of three dollars ($3.00) shall be levied
upon all motor vehicles within the City of Jonesburg, and the same
shall be due and payable on the first day of January of each year.
The license tag issued by the Collector of Revenue for the City of
Jonesburg is to be displayed and fastened on a conspicuous place on
the windshield of each motor vehicle.

The license tag issued under the provisions of this Chapter
shall not be assigned or transferred.

In the event the owner of the licensed vehicle loses his/her
license tag, the Collector of Revenue is hereby directed to issue
a duplicate tag for the unexpired portion of the year, upon payment
of a fee of twenty-five cents ($0.25).

If application for a license for a motor vehicle is made during
the period beginning on the first day of July and ending on the last
day of September, one-half (1/2) of the annual license fee only shall
be levied and collected. If application is made during the period
beginning on the first day of October and ending on the last day of
December, one-fourth (1/4) of the annual fee shall be levied and collected.

It shall be the duty of the City Collector when the annual tax
of any vehicle mentioned in this Chapter has been paid to register
the same in a book furnished the City Collector by the City.

The City Collector, upon receiving payment of the motor vehicle
tax, shall issue to such person without charge a license sticker or
tag having cast or printed thereon the number of the sticker, together
with the words Jonesburg, Missouri, and the year for which the license
was issued.

No City vehicle license shall be issued unless the application
therefor is accompanied by tax receipts or a statement certified by
the City Collector showing that the City real and personal property
taxes for all preceding years plus any penalties or interest lawfully
charged have been paid by the applicant or that no such taxes were
due.
