The regulations in this Part apply to property of Allegheny
County known as the Panhandle Trail, as well as any parking or access
areas that are part of or adjacent to Panhandle Trail.

1. The Panhandle Trail hours shall be from sunrise to sunset. It shall
be a violation of this Part for any person to be present on Panhandle
Trail property or parking access areas except during the hours from
sunrise to sunset, except during events sanctioned by Collier Township
and/or the Panhandle Trail Association.
2. Trees, shrubs, hedges, berries, wild flowers or other flowers must
not be picked, cut, broken or injured in any way whatsoever.
3. Buildings, fences, fountains, benches or signs must not be damaged,
injured or defaced in any way.
4. Paper, rubbish, or any refuse whatsoever must not be scattered but
must be deposited in receptacles provided for that purpose.
5. Birds, squirrels, rabbits, deer, ducks, or any other wild creatures
may not be hunted, injured, killed or in any manner molested within
the park limits. Abandonment of domestic animals (dogs, cats, etc.)
is likewise forbidden. Any animal found at large may be seized and
impounded by the Township police and turned over to the Township's
animal control personnel for disposal in accordance with the law.
6. Drunkenness, drinking and/or possession of alcoholic beverages, disorderly
or indecent conduct and excessive, offensive or obscene language are
not permitted.
7. All alcoholic beverages and illegal drugs are prohibited.
8. No motorized vehicles of any kind are permitted, except for motorized
wheelchairs.
9. No firearms may be used or carried on the trail property, except
by law enforcement officers.
10. No camping is permitted except in designated areas.
11. Dogs or horses or any other domesticated animals are not permitted
at any time, except that dogs are permitted under the following conditions:

A. Dogs must wear collars with the following tags visible at all times:
current rabies and county license.
B. All dogs must be on a leash and under the control of their owners
or authorized handlers.
C. A maximum of two dogs is permitted per handler while on the trail.
D. Dog owners/handlers must immediately pick up and dispose of their
dog's feces.
E. It shall be a violation of this section for a dog owner or handler
to bring a dog onto the trail unless in compliance with all of the
above-listed conditions.
12. Bicycle riders shall comply with the following rules of the road
and any such other rules as may be adopted by resolution of the Board
of Commissioners and posted through trail signage.
A. Riders shall keep right, except to pass.
B. Riders shall warn before passing.
C. Riders shall ride only on the trail.

This Part may be enforced by the Collier Township Police Township,
the Allegheny County Police Department or any authorized agent of
Allegheny County.
