The statutory law this article is enacted pursuant to is § 10
of the Municipal Home Rule Law.
The Town of Montour is hereby empowered to contract for the
services of a Building Inspector III, whether or not any such person
is a resident of the Town of Montour.

This article of the Town of Montour shall be known and cited
as "Local Law No. 1 of the Year 2003 of the Town of Montour, Schuyler
County, New York."
The purpose of this article is to provide for the appointment
of a Deputy Town Clerk who is a resident of Schuyler County, New York,
but not necessarily a resident of the Town of Montour.
A.
The Town Board of the Town of Montour is hereby authorized to appoint,
by resolution, a Deputy Town Clerk for the Town of Montour. In making
said appointment, the Town Board shall have the authority to appoint
any individual otherwise qualified to hold the office of Deputy Town
Clerk for the Town of Montour, except that said individual need only
be a resident of Schuyler County, New York, but need not be a resident
of the Town of Montour.[1]
B.
Said Deputy Town Clerk shall be appointed by the Town Board upon
the advice of the Town Clerk of the Town of Montour and shall receive
such compensation as may be set from time to time by resolution of
the Town Board of the Town of Montour.
