GENERAL REFERENCES
Salaries and compensation — See Ch. 91.
The Board of Commissioners shall by ordinance, including the Annual Salary Ordinance, establish titles and positions for public employment by the Village of Ridgefield Park.
The Board of Commissioners shall, by resolution, adopt and amend from time to time personnel policies and procedures, including rules concerning the employment and termination of employees, terms and conditions of employment and the regulations required to comply with applicable federal and state employment-related law. The personnel policies and procedures adopted pursuant to said resolutions shall be applicable to all officials, appointees, employees, prospective employees, volunteers and independent contractors of the Village of Ridgefield Park.
The Commissioner in charge of insurance shall be responsible to implement and enforce the personnel practices adopted by ordinance or resolution authorized pursuant to this chapter. If there is a conflict between said personnel practices and any duly adopted and lawful collective bargaining agreement, personnel services contract or federal or state law, the terms and conditions of that contract or law shall prevail. In all other cases, the personnel policies and procedures adopted pursuant to this chapter shall prevail.

A. 
All full-time employees hired on or after June 1, 2015, shall be required to arrange for mandatory direct deposit of all net pay received from the Village.
B. 
Full-time employees hired prior to June 1, 2015, and all part-time employees, shall be exempt from this requirement.
C. 
Any full-time employee hired prior to June I, 2015, or any part-time employee, who wishes to utilize direct deposit procedures may do so, however, continued use of direct deposit shall thereafter be mandatory for said employee.
D. 
The Board of Commissioners may, by resolution and for good cause shown, exempt any employee, including temporary and seasonal employees, from this requirement.
E. 
Village employees may request, in writing, an exemption from the direct deposit mandate to the Village Clerk. Such requests will be presented to the Board of Commissioners within 30 days of such request.
