Editor's Note: The Himrod Water District was finally
approved 10-2-1974.
The water district shall comprise all that area hereinafter
bounded and described as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the center
line of Rice Hill Road, which point is westerly as measured along
the center line of Rice Hill Road 600 feet from the point of intersection
of the center lines of Rice Hill Road and Prospect Street; thence
southerly and at a right angle to Rice Hill Road 1,000 feet to a point;
thence easterly at a right angle 940 feet, more or less, to a point
in the east boundary of the Penn Central Railroad; thence southerly
along the east boundary of the Penn Central Railroad 130 feet, more
or less, to a point which marks the southwest corner of lands conveyed

The Himrod Water District shall comply with NYSDOH Regulations,
Part V of NYS Sanitary Code in attached booklet.

The Town Councilman will conduct the meeting.
C.
The Water Advisory Board will appoint a Secretary, from the membership,
for keeping records and taking minutes.

All water lines from the reservoir to the house are property of the
Himrod Water District.
B.
New hook-up fee to the district water line is $250.
C.
New customers pay all expenses from the water supply line to the
dwelling, with an outside shut-off at the property line, 1/4 turn
water curb cock.
D.
No booster pump can be hooked directly to the water supply line.
E.
Customers may have a holding tank (minimum of 100 gallons with automatic
shut-off and anti-suction valve).
F.
There shall be no digging of water line from house to reservoir without
approval of the HWDO.
G.
Main water supply line size (new construction) will be two inches;
dwelling water line size will be 3/4 inch.
H.
There shall be no retailing water.
I.
Responsibilities of the HWDO. The HWDO:
(1)
Will notify all customers in case of water emergencies (shortages,
line breaks, contamination, etc.).
(2)
Will chlorinate and maintain the water system as per state health
regulations.
(3)
Must approve all new installation plans and completed work.
(4)
A fine of $25 will be imposed upon customers who do not comply with
regulations within 30 days after receiving legal notification. After
the 30 days, additional fines of $10 per day will be imposed until
the violation is corrected.
J.
Budget to be submitted to the Town Board, who will have final approval
to disburse money.
K.
Locks to the gate, reservoir and chlorination building are to be
controlled by the HWDO.
L.
An annual meeting for all Himrod Water District members is to be
held on the second Monday of September at 7:00 p.m. The meeting place
will be posted at the Himrod Post Office.
M.
Proposals for changes in the bylaws may be recommended to the Milo
Town Board by the Himrod Water District.
N.
Bylaws may be amended by the Milo Town Board at any regular meeting.
