A.
Title. This chapter shall be known as the "Junkyard Law of the Town
of Milo," hereinafter referred to as "this chapter."
B.
Scope. This chapter shall apply to all lands and structures partially
or wholly located within the Town of Milo, New York.
C.
Purpose. The purpose of this chapter is, through the regulation of
junkyards, to promote a clean, wholesome, and attractive environment;
protect the community from potential hazards to property and persons;
protect water resources; preserve the aesthetic qualities of the municipality;
prevent depreciation of the property on which a junkyard is located
and the property of other persons in the neighborhood and the community;
and to further the goals of the Comprehensive Plan of the Town of
Milo.
D.
Authority. This chapter is adopted pursuant to the authority granted
to the Town of Milo, New York in § 10 of the Municipal Home
Rule Law of the State of New York.
