Probate judge and court — See § 608.

The Town Council shall appoint a Judge of Probate for the Town
of West Greenwich at the regular Town Council meeting for the month
of December each year, pursuant to the provisions of R.I.G.L. §§ 8-9-2.1,
8-9-2.3, and 8-9-4 and in accordance with Charter § 608.
In the event of the disqualification, inability, or absence
of the Judge of Probate appointed hereunder, or in the event of a
vacancy in said position, the deputy or alternate appointed by the
Town Council in accordance with Charter § 608 shall be the
Acting Judge of Probate and shall assume all of the powers and appurtenances
of that office as more fully set forth in R.I.G.L. § 8-9-4.
