The rates of discounts and penalty on taxes levied by New Hanover
Township shall be as follows: All taxpayers subject to the payment
of real estate taxes assessed by New Hanover Township shall be entitled
to a discount of 2% from the amount of such tax upon making payment
of the whole amount thereof within two months after the date of the
tax notice. All taxpayers who shall fail to make payment of any taxes
assessed by New Hanover Township for four months after the date of
the tax notice shall be charged for four months after the date of
the tax notice shall be charged a penalty of 10%. Such discount and
penalty shall be deducted from the taxes or added to the taxes by
the Tax Collector and shall accordingly be collected by the said Tax
Collector.
