No person shall operate any motor vehicle longitudinally upon any sidewalk in the Borough; nor shall any person operate any motor vehicle upon or across any sidewalk except in order to gain access to or egress from a driveway or alley at such locations where the curb, if such sidewalk is curbed, shall have been properly cut down for the purpose. Any person who shall violate any provision of this section shall, upon summary conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $50 and costs of prosecution, and, in default of payment of such fine and costs, to imprisonment for not more than 10 days.

1. 
No person shall hereinafter operate a motor vehicle within the Borough of Shillington upon any street or portion thereof, which is owned and maintained by the Borough of Shillington, in excess of 25 miles per hour EXCEPT East Broad Street between Philadelphia Avenue and Kings Boulevard which shall be 15 miles per hour and Museum Road from Lancaster Avenue to the Wyomissing Borough line which shall be 35 miles per hour.

Any person, who shall operate a vehicle or tractor at a speed in excess of that established therefor upon any street or portion thereof specified in this section shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of $35 and costs. Any person exceeding the maximum speed limit by more than five miles per hour shall pay an additional fine of $2 per mile for each mile in excess of five miles per hour over the maximum speed limit.

At the following intersections, official traffic signals shall be erected (or if heretofore erected are hereby ratified), and traffic at such intersections may be directed by those signals:

It shall be unlawful for the operator of any vehicle or tractor to make a U-turn anywhere upon any public street or alley in the Borough. Any person who shall violate any provision of this section shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of $25 and costs.

The following highways are hereby established as through highways, and the operator of every vehicle or tractor, upon approaching any such highway at any intersection thereof (except for such intersections where there are now or shall hereafter be located official traffic signals) shall come to a full stop, within a reasonable distance, before entering any such through highway:

Every driver of a vehicle approaching a stop or yield sign authorized by this section shall stop the vehicle or yield right-of-way as required by §§ 3323(b), 3323(c) of the Vehicle Code, 75 Pa.C.S.A. §§ 3323(b), 3323(c), as the case may be, and shall not proceed into or across the through highway until he has followed all applicable requirements of that section of the law. Any person who violates any provision of this section, shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of $25 and costs.

The following intersections (in addition to streets and alleys intersecting with the through highways established by § 15-207 of this Part) are hereby established as stop intersections, and official stop signs shall be erected (or are hereby confirmed if heretofore erected) in such a position as to face traffic approaching the second-named street upon the first-named street, in the direction or directions hereby indicated. All vehicles and tractors approaching any such intersection upon the first named streets, in the direction or directions hereby indicated in each case, shall come to a full stop, within a reasonable distance, before entering any such intersection:

It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any vehicle or tractor, except than a passenger vehicle (but not including any passenger vehicle drawing any trailer or towing any other vehicle) upon any of the following portions of the streets and alleys in the Borough:

Any person who shall violate any provision of this section shall, upon summary conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $50 and costs of prosecution, and, in default of payment of such fine and costs, to imprisonment for not more than 10 days. Provided: nothing in this section shall prohibit the operation of any commercial vehicle or tractor upon any street or alley or portion thereof listed herein, where such operation thereon shall be necessary in order to pick up or deliver any goods, wares, merchandise or material from or to any premises located upon such street or alley or portion thereof.

The Mayor is hereby authorized to designate as play highway, whenever he shall deem such action advisable, and for whatever period of time directed by him, any portion of any street or alley in the Borough, whereon sledding and coasting shall be permitted. Such highway shall be set apart for the purpose under the direction of the Mayor. No person shall operate any motor vehicle or tractor upon any play highway at any time when such highway shall be designated, except in case of emergency, with special permission of the Mayor or of the police officer in charge, who shall first clear such play highway of all persons using such highway for the purpose for which it was set aside. Any person who violates any provision of this section shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of $25 and costs.

It shall be unlawful for any and all vehicles having a gross vehicle weight in excess of the weight indicated below to travel on the streets or parts of streets indicated:

The streets listed above shall be posted prohibiting the use of vehicles as set forth in Subsection 1 aforesaid in accordance with the signage required by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT).

Violations. Any person who shall violate any provision of this section shall be subject to a fine and penalty in an amount not less than $500 nor more than $1,000 per incident.
