On the following streets, or parts of streets, by authority granted by § 4902(a) of the Vehicle Code, it shall be unlawful for any person or persons to drive any vehicle on that street or part of street that has a gross vehicle weight greater than the restriction prescribed for that street or part of street, as the case may be.

Any person operating a vehicle or combination upon a street in violation of this section is guilty of a summary offense and shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay fine of $150, plus $150 for each 500 pounds or part thereof in excess of 3,000 pounds over the weight limit.

Under the authority granted by § 4902(a) of the Vehicle Code, weight restrictions are hereby established on certain bridges within the Township, as follows, and it shall be unlawful for any person to drive a vehicle over these bridges that has a gross vehicle weight greater than the restriction prescribed for that bridge:

On the following bridges and streets or parts of streets, by authority granted by § 4902(a) of the Vehicle Code, it shall be unlawful for any person to drive any vehicle or combination in violation of the size restrictions prescribed below for that bridge or street or part of street:

Any person who violates any provision of this section shall be prosecuted under § 4902(a) and 4902(g)(1) of the Vehicle code, and, upon conviction, shall be sentenced to pay a fine of $75 and costs.

By reason of hazardous traffic conditions and other safety factors, by authority granted by § 4902(b) of the Vehicle Code, it shall be unlawful for any person to drive any vehicle or combination in violation of the restriction prescribed below for that bridge or street or part of street.

Any person who violates any provision of this section shall be prosecuted under §§ 4902(b) and 4902(g)(2) of the Vehicle Code, and, upon conviction, shall be sentenced to pay a fine of $75 and costs.

It shall be unlawful for any person to drive a vehicle other than a passenger car on any of the following streets or parts of streets:

Any person who violates any provision of this section shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of $25 and costs.

Nothing in this chapter shall be construed to apply to emergency vehicles, school buses, or vehicles needing to use the restricted street or bridge to make local deliveries or pickups.

The provisions of this part can be enforced by any law enforcement officer whose jurisdiction covers the Township, including members of the Pennsylvania State Police.

The proper authorities of the Township are directed to erect official signs establishing the traffic regulations as set forth in this chapter, in conformity with the provisions of the Vehicle Code and PennDOT Publication 238. The requirements of this chapter shall not be enforced in areas that have not been so posted.
