Where a permit is required by the applicable code and/or ordinance in effect in said Borough and before any work is done by any plumber, electrician, heating contractor, air conditioning contractor or building contractor, he, she or it must pay an annual license fee as hereinafter provided to the Borough of Forty Fort, and such license shall be only for the period from January 1 to December 31 and such license shall be only for a twelve-month period from the date of said application.

License and examination fees charged for certain trades and occupations shall be determined by Council by resolution.

Any applicant who is unsuccessful in passing the examination prescribed by the Borough of Forty Fort will be permitted to take a re-examination not less than 60 days after the date of his unsuccessful examination.

Any licensee desiring to continue to practice the profession or trade for the twelve-month period following the expiration of the current license shall surrender the current license to the Borough of Forty Fort, which shall, forthwith, upon proof of the payment of the proper fee herein provided and filing of a copy of current required insurance policy or policies regarding public liability and property damage, issue to the applicant a license for the next twelve-month period.

Any person, firm or corporation duly licensed by another municipality in Pennsylvania which has adopted a substantially identical ordinance to this Part shall be permitted to operate in the Borough of Forty Fort upon applying for a license accompanied by proof that the proper fee has been paid to the Forty Fort Borough Treasury, filing of a copy of current required insurance policy or policies regarding public liability and property damage.

Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any provision of this Part, upon conviction thereof, shall be sentenced to a fine of not more than $1,000 plus costs and, in default of payment of said fine and costs, to a term of imprisonment not to exceed 30 days. Each day that a violation of this Part continues or each section of this Part which shall be found to have been violated shall constitute a separate offense.
