[HISTORY: Adopted by the Town Board of the Town of Urbana 7-17-2001 by L.L. No. 1-2001. Amendments noted where applicable.]
In view of the fact that the County of Steuben is in the process
of implementing an Enhanced 911 (E911) telephone system whereby an
individual will be able to dial a 911 telephone number in the event
of an emergency, the Urbana Town Board believes that a Town-wide uniform
system of property addressing will assist emergency personnel in responding
quickly and efficiently to an emergency and, accordingly, that the
enactment of this local legislation is in the best interests of the
public health, safety and general welfare of the Town of Urbana and
its inhabitants.

exempted, shall be identified by an address assigned in accordance

if it is not clearly visible from the roadway, then the number shall
be installed on a post on the distant side of the driveway as it is
approached from the same side of the roadway as the structure. This
installation may be combined with the mailbox post, if the mailbox
is located at the drive. The number shall be visible in both directions
of travel on the roadway. These numbers shall not be less than three
inches in height and shall be white reflective numbers/letters on
