In addition to any requirements which may be applicable by virtue of Chapter
27 of the Municipal Code, the following requirements must be complied with to prevent the spread of fire:
A. Smoke detectors. Smoke detectors shall be required in areas used
for sleeping. At least on smoke detector, hardwired or batter operated,
per level is required.
B. Fire separation. Common walls of dwelling units and attached garages
shall have a fire rating of 3/4 hour.
C. Common doors of dwelling units and attached garages shall have a
fire rating of 20 minutes. Structures within 10 feet of a dwelling
unit must have a one-hour separation rating.
