Any owner or keeper of a dog who shall fail to comply with any
order issued by the Dog Office or the Board of Selectmen will immediately
turn the dog over to the Town pound. At owner's expense to hold
pending appeal to appropriate district court (10 days) and will be
held at owner's expense for duration of court case or the Town
will seek a warrant to remove the dog for this period.
A storage fee for boarding of impounded animals shall be levied
at a rate of $20 per day and a pickup fee of $40.
Any owner, keeper or harborer who fails without good cause to
comply with the licensing requirements of this article shall be liable
for a fine of $100. The Bellingham Police Chief and his designee,
including the Animal Control Officer, and any Bellingham police officer,
shall have the authority to enforce the provisions of this article.
