In all locations where official traffic control signals are installed, pedestrians, except where directed otherwise by pedestrian-control signals installed under § 435-44 of this article, shall obey the directions of these traffic-control signals, as follows:
A.
At the following locations, pedestrian control signals showing words,
phrases and/or symbols shall be erected:

Every pedestrian facing a steady signal exhibiting the word "walk"
or a walking person symbol may proceed across the roadway in the direction
of the signal, and shall be given the right-of-way by the drivers
of all vehicles.
C.
Every pedestrian facing a steady signal exhibiting the words "don't
walk" or the symbol of an upraised hand should not start to cross
the roadway in the direction of the signal, but any pedestrian who
has partially completed his crossing on the "walk" or walking person
symbol should proceed to the sidewalk or safety zone while the "don't
walk" or upraised hand signal is showing.
D.
Pedestrians facing a flashing "walk" signal are cautioned that there
is a possible hazard from turning vehicles, but such pedestrians may
proceed across the roadway in the direction of the signal, and shall
be given the right-of-way by the drivers of all vehicles.
It shall be unlawful for any pedestrian:
Any person who violates any provision of this article shall,
upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of $5 and costs.
