This district is intended to encourage the continued use of the land for industrial purposes as well as to permit the adaptive reuse of older industrial buildings which are no longer suitable for industrial purposes to residential and commercial uses and to establish reasonable standards for buildings and other structures, the areas and dimensions of yards and other open spaces.
