Ordinance No. 570, which established the Department of Public
Safety and the office of Public Safety Director, is hereby repealed.

The Office of Chief of Police is hereby reestablished, and any
other Township office inconsistent with the Office of Chief of Police
shall be abolished, and any reference in any Township ordinance, manual,
personnel manual, standard operating procedure, code, contract or
other writing to "Chief of Police" shall be reinstituted, and any
reference to the Public Safety Director shall be deemed deleted.

Any ordinances, or parts of ordinances, which conflict with
the terms, conditions and provisions of this Part, are hereby repealed
to the extent of such conflict.

It is hereby declared to be the legislative intent that if a
court of competent jurisdiction declares any provisions of this Part
to be invalid or ineffective in whole or in part, the effect of such
decision shall be limited to those provisions which are expressly
stated in the decision to be invalid or ineffective, and all other
provisions of this Part shall continue to be fully effective.

This Part shall become effective the first of May, 2017, after
adoption and approval by the Board of Supervisors of Lower Southampton
Township, as provided under law.
