Words and phrases, when used in this Part, shall be the meanings
ascribed to them in the Vehicle Code of Pennsylvania, 75 Pa.C.S.A.
§ 101 et seq., as now in force, or as hereafter amended,
enacted or re-enacted, except in those instances where the context
clearly indicates a different meaning. The singular shall include
the plural, and the masculine shall include the feminine.

The Board of Supervisors is hereby granted power to regulate, restrict
and prohibit traffic and parking in limited areas for limited times
on the right-of-way of any state highway or Township road in Lower
Mt. Bethel Township:
A.
In the case of fire, flood, storm, snow storm, or other emergency.
B.
In order to facilitate private or public works.
C.
In order to facilitate processions and public events.
D.
To create play highways whereon sledding and coasting shall be permitted.
Such temporary and emergency regulations shall be enforceable by the
Board of Supervisors and the police of the Township in the same manner
and subject to the same penalties as permanent regulations.

Police officers, designated and appointed by the Board of Supervisors,
are hereby authorized, subject to the supervision and control of the
Board, to direct traffic on the highways and Township roads in the
Township and at the intersections of said highways and Township roads
and to enforce the ordinances of the Township of Lower Mt. Bethel
and the Statutes of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
