This chapter shall be known and cited as the "Charter Township of Midland Parade Ordinance."
The purpose of this chapter is to regulate parades of any kind or character on any roadway or in any public places within the Charter Township of Midland.
A. 
Parade permit required. It shall be unlawful for any person or organization to conduct or participate in a parade of any kind or character on any roadway or in any public places of the Township without first obtaining permission from the Township Board.
B. 
Request for parade permit.
(1) 
Request for parade permit shall be made on forms obtained from the Township Clerk.
(2) 
Said forms, along with any other pertinent information, shall be returned to the Township Supervisor not less than 30 days prior to the parade date.
(3) 
The supervisor shall be responsible for proper investigation and report findings to the Township Board.
C. 
Noise control.
(1) 
To use any gong, siren, horn, etc, by any individual or group is prohibited.
(2) 
To use any amplifiers and loudspeakers by any individual or group for any purpose is prohibited, except upon securing the prior permission of the Township Board.
D. 
Michigan State Uniform Traffic Code. All applicable sections of the Michigan State Uniform Traffic Code[1] pertaining to parades and parade permits shall apply to this chapter.

Any person or organization who violates any of the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a civil infraction and shall be punished by a fine of not more than $500.
