of a customer within the Township water service area, install water
service and extension from the main to the customer's property
line, terminating at a curb box.

283-20 shall be only those which are obtained from the city or Township.
The cost of the installation of water service and extension
within the Township water service area shall be determined as follows:

on the structure side of the road at the road right-of-way, will include
the tapping of the main and the furnishing and installing of all necessary
valves, pipe and fittings from the main to the curb box. The cost
of this work will be in accordance with Township and city ordinances.
[Amended 12-19-2000 by Ord. No. 88B; 11-14-2001 by Ord. No. 88C]
A. All parcels that elect to hook up to the Township water system before
August 14, 2000, will be charged $3,500. This amount may be paid in
full at the time of connection or payable in quarterly installments
of $76.50 each, inclusive of interest. Quarterly installments shall
commence and are due on October 1, 2000, or January 1, 2001, at the
parcel owner's option. Interest shall accrue on all unpaid balances
from September 13, 2000, at the rate of 6.16669%. A gross installment
amount, which shall be 10% greater than the net installment amount,
shall become due and payable if the installment remains unpaid after
the due date shown on the bill. Billing for deferred installments
of hookup charges shall be made by the City of Midland and payable
to the City of Midland, in accordance with procedures it may institute
from time to time. In addition to all other remedies for collection,
the unpaid balance of hookup charges, with accrued interest, shall
constitute a lien on the premises subject thereto. Unpaid balances
for such hookup charges may be prepaid to the Midland Township Treasurer
prior to final installment and, subsequently, accruing interest avoided.
B. All parcels that elect to hook up to the Township water system after
August 14, 2000, will be charged either $5,500 or $2,750. Where such
parcel lies adjacent to a water main installed as part of the Township
water system, the charge shall be $5,500 for each connection. Where
such parcel does not lie adjacent to a water main installed as part
of the Township water system, the charge shall be $2,750 for each
connection. These amounts shall be paid upon connection request, and
no installment payment provisions shall be available for this charge.
Each customer of the Township water system shall be required,
as a condition of obtaining and continuing to receive water service,
to sign a written agreement indicating said customer agrees to comply
with and is governed by the ordinances, rules, regulation and policies
as may be adopted by the Township relating to such water service.
The Township shall have the right to refuse to supply water service
to any customer who refuses to sign such agreement.
