Editor's Note: This local law, subject to referendum, was passed by the electorate 11-8-1994.
Any person who has served as Supervisor of the Town Board of the Town of Southampton for a total of eight years shall be ineligible to serve as Supervisor for any future term.
Any person who has served as a Councilman or a Councilwoman for the Town of Southampton for a total of eight years shall be ineligible to serve as a Councilman or -woman for any future term.

A. 
Any person who has served as a Zoning Board member for the Town of Southampton for two full seven-year terms shall be ineligible to serve as a Zoning Board member for any future term.
B. 
If a member has been appointed to serve less than a full term of seven years, then in no event shall that member serve more than 20 years total.
C. 
This limitation on the number of terms shall apply to terms of office beginning on or after January 1, 2008.

Any person who has served as a Planning Board member for the Town of Southampton for two full seven-year terms shall be ineligible to serve as a Planning Board member for any future term.
B. 
If a member has been appointed to serve less than a full term of seven years, then in no event shall that member serve more than 20 years total.
C. 
This limitation on the number of terms shall apply to terms of office beginning on or after January 1, 2008.
