The Village of Sidney may operate a recycling disposal and pick-up
facility in or near the Village, as the Village authorities determine.
The Village may contract with a qualified firm or company to
dispose of recyclable materials left at the recycling facility operated
by the Village on such terms and conditions as the Village authorities
determine advisable.
The following items or materials are appropriate for recycling
and may be dumped, left or abandoned at the recycling facility:

Magazines.
B.
Junk mail.
C.
Window envelopes.
D.
White and colored paper.
E.
Typing paper.
F.
Copier paper.
G.
Stationery and letterhead.
H.
Computer print outs.
I.
Manila folders.
J.
Newspaper, newspaper inserts.
K.
Cardboard, if flattened.
L.
Boxboard.
M.
Chipboard.
N.
Carrier stock.
O.
Tin cans.
P.
Aluminum cans.
Q.
Glass (brown, clear and green).
R.
Plastics #1 through #7.
The following items or materials are not to be dumped or left
at the recycling facility center, and the dumping or leaving of any
of the following materials at the recycling facility is prohibited
and is a violation of this article:
Foil-covered cardboard

Posterboard
|
Paper with excessive labels or gummed stickers
|
Carbons
|
Photographs
|
Tissues and towels
|
Ceramics
|
Oil, oil containers
|
Coffee cups
|
Paper plates
|
Napkins
|
Candy wrappers
|
Glue
|
Tape
|
Rubber bands
|
Plastic or metal report covers
|
Plastic scraps
|
Paperback books
|
Hardback books
|
Phonebooks
|
Any kind of construction material
|
Tires
|
Furniture
|
Motor vehicles
|
Motor vehicle parts
|
Scrap metal
|
Installation
|
Wood or wood products
|
The Village shall cause an appropriate listing of materials
that are prohibited from said recycling center to be posted in a conspicuous
location at said recycling facility(s).
It is illegal for any person, firm or corporation to dump or
deposit any of the foregoing materials at any recycling facility operated
or sponsored by the Village of Sidney.
A.
Any person violating the provisions of this article shall pay a fine
of not less than $100 nor more than $750 for each violation.
B.
Each dumping of any items of prohibited material shall constitute
a separate offense punishable by a separate fine under this article.
C.
Violation of this article shall also subject the violator to court
action or injunction prohibiting the continued illegal dumping by
such person, firm or corporation.
