The operation of vehicular travel on certain streets in the Township is found to cause excessive damage and destruction on those streets. The result is an adverse effect on the public health, safety and welfare of the residents of North Versailles Township.
Attached as Exhibit "A"[1] is the 2020 Street Weight Limit Study and analysis of the Township Engineer, which is incorporated into and made a part of this article.

The following named public streets in the Township shall have a weight limit prohibiting vehicular traffic weighing more than the limit set forth:

Exempted from the application of this weight restriction are emergency vehicles, vehicles making local deliveries or pickups, garbage and trash collection vehicles and school buses.
Public notice of the limits established shall be set forth on road signs designating the restrictions to be located within 25 feet of each end of the street.
Any person who violates or knowingly permits the violation of the provisions of this article shall be subject to a summary offense civil violation before a District Judge and, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of $150 plus $150 for each 500 pounds, or part thereof, in excess of 3,000 pounds over the maximum allowable weight.
The provisions of this article shall be severable so that if any of its provisions are found to be unconstitutional, illegal or invalid or otherwise unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining portions hereof shall not be affected thereby.
This article shall take effect immediately upon the completion of the posting requirement set forth herein.
