[HISTORY: Adopted by the Village Board of the Village of Fairwater at time of adoption of Code (see Ch. 1, General Provisions, Art. II). Amendments noted where applicable.]
Pursuant to the Wisconsin Statutes, the voting polls in the Village of Fairwater, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, shall be opened from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for all elections.
A.
Canvass Board. The Canvass Board shall consist of no fewer than five citizens appointed and approved by the Village Board for two-year terms commencing January 1 in the year of appointment.
B.
Reduction of number of election officials. Pursuant to the Wisconsin Statutes, there is hereby established one set of election officials to conduct all elections of the Village which shall consist of five Canvass Board members. However, the Village Clerk shall have the power to prescribe the number of election officials. The Clerk shall determine in advance of each election whether the number of election officials for such election should be reduced from the number prescribed by the Wisconsin Statutes, and if such a reduction is so determined, the Village Clerk shall further redistribute duties among the remaining officials.
C.
Alternate sets of election officials. Because § 7.30(1), Wis. Stats., allows for the creation of alternate or two sets of election officials to work at different times on election day, the Village Board authorizes the selection of alternate and/or two sets of election officials to staff the polls on election day.
