[HISTORY: Adopted by the Village Board of the Village of Footville 5-2-1991 by Ord. No. 5-2-91. Amendments noted where applicable.]
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
HIGHWAY
Has the meaning given in § 340.01(22), Wis. Stats.
SOLID WASTE
Has the meaning given in § 289.01(33), Wis. Stats.
VEHICLE
Has the meaning given in § 340.01(74), Wis. Stats.
WATERS OF THE STATE
Has the meaning given in § 281.01(18), Wis. Stats.

Except as provided in § 183-3, a person may not do any of the following in the Village of Footville:
A. 
Deposit or discharge any solid waste on or along any street highway or alley, in any waters of the state, on the ice of any waters of the state or on any other public or private property within the Village of Footville.
B. 
Permit any solid waste to be thrown from a vehicle operated by the person within the Village of Footville.
C. 
Deposit or discharge any solid waste into any Village of Footville municipal trash barrels in any public area of the Village. Village park trash barrels are for trash generated at the park only.
A. 
Section 183-2A does not apply to a person who places solid waste in a receptacle designed for public solid waste storage that is located along a highway or on the other public or private property in the Village of Footville.
B. 
Section 183-2 does not apply to a person who deposits or discharges solid waste in conformance with this chapter or in compliance with a permit, license or other approval issued by the state, county or Village.
The owner or owners of the solid waste shall be liable for the violation of this chapter. If the solid waste in question contains items that are marked, labeled or otherwise contain identification of a name or names of a person or persons, such markings, labels or identification is presumptive evidence that the solid waste containing such name labels, name marking or name identification is owned by the person or persons whose name or names appear therein.

Violations of this chapter shall be subject to the penalties provided in § 1-4, Penalties.
