If any part or provision of this code, or the application thereof
to any person, property or circumstance, is adjudged invalid by any
court of competent jurisdiction, such judgment shall be confined in
its operation and direction to the part, provision, section or application
directly involved in the controversy in which such judgment shall
have been rendered and shall not affect or impair the integrity or
validity of the remainder of this code or the application thereof
to other persons, property or circumstances. The Village Board of
Trustees hereby declares that it would have enacted the remainder
of this code even without any such part, provision, section or application.
This code shall take effect on August 23, 1996.
