Township of Stroud, PA Part 2 STROUD AREA REGIONAL POLICE DEPARTMENT

§ 1-201 Title.

This Part shall be known and may be cited as the "Stroud Township Ordinance Authorizing an Intergovernmental Agreement Establishing Regional Police Department."

§ 1-202 Approval of Agreement Establishing Regional Police Department.

The "Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement Establishing Regional Police Department" with the Borough of East Stroudsburg and the Borough of Stroudsburg, as set forth and incorporated herein by reference, is hereby approved, adopted and authorized, provided that the Borough of East Stroudsburg, and the Borough of Stroudsburg, by ordinance, approve, adopt and authorize the execution the same agreement.

The "whereas" provisions of this ordinance are incorporated with the Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement as if fully set forth.[1]

The existing Stroud Township Ordinance Authorizing an Intergovernmental Agreement Establishing Regional Police Department is amended in its entirety to read as set forth in Exhibit A.[2]

The following amendments have been made to the Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement Establishing Regional Police Department:

§ 1-203 Provision for Implementing Resolutions.

The Board of Supervisors of Stroud Township may by resolution adopt procedures and regulations to implement the agreement approved by this Part, pursuant to the Intergovernmental Cooperation Act, Act of December, 19, 1996, P.L. 1158, No. 177 found at 53 Pa.C.S.A. § 2301 et seq.
