There is hereby created the position of Supervising Senior Maintenance Repairer for the Township of Lacey.
The Senior Maintenance Repairer, under direction, performs a variety of the more complex maintenance and repair tasks involved in masonry, plastering, carpentry, painting, plumbing, steamfitting, sheet metal, electrical, glazing, mechanical, or other types of maintenance work and may take the lead in a small maintenance unit; does related work.
To be appointed to the position of Senior Maintenance Repairer, an individual must meet the following requirements:
A. 
Knowledge of standard tools, materials, methods, and practices and of occupational hazards and safety precautions involved in performing general maintenance and repair work.
B. 
Ability to understand, remember, and carry out oral and written directions.
C. 
Ability to take precautions in performing the work.
D. 
Ability to obtain, store, safeguard, distribute, and properly use equipment, materials, and supplies.
E. 
Ability to maintain essential records and files.
F. 
Ability to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.
G. 
Ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. American Sign Language or Braille may also be considered as acceptable forms of communication.
H. 
Persons with mental or physical disabilities are eligible as long as they can perform the essential functions of the job after reasonable accommodation is made to their known limitations. If the accommodation cannot be made because it would cause the employer undue hardship, such persons may not be eligible.
The salary for the Senior Maintenance Repairer shall be determined from time to time by the Township Committee and shall be paid in accordance with the provisions of the Salary Ordinance of the Township of Lacey.[1]
