The purpose of this article shall be to improve and promote
the health, safety and general welfare of the community, including
the protection and preservation of the property of the Town and its
inhabitants by control and removal of dead trees.
All owners of real property on which dead or damaged trees are
permitted to stand which produce or cause to be produced a dangerous
condition likely to cause imminent damage to a structure or building
located on said premises, or to a structure or building on lands adjoining
said premises, shall cut down said tree or trees and remove the same
from the premises within 10 business days after the mailing of a notice,
in writing, by the Building Inspector, sent by registered or certified
mail to the owner or owners shown on the current assessment roll to
the address shown thereon.
All owners of real property on which dead or damaged trees have
been felled which produce a hazardous or dangerous condition or so
as to produce an unsightly condition shall cause such felled trees
to be removed from the premises within 10 business days after the
mailing of a notice, in writing, by the Building Inspector, sent by
registered or certified mail to the owner or owners shown on the current
assessment roll to the address shown thereon.
