The Board of Commissioners may from time to time amend, supplement, change, modify or repeal this chapter, including the Zoning Map, by proceeding in the following manner and in accordance with the Municipalities Planning Code.[1]

A. 
The Board of Commissioners shall fix by resolution or motion at a public meeting the time and place of a public hearing on the proposed amendment and cause notice thereof to be given as follows:

(1) 
By publishing a notice thereof once a week for two successive weeks in a newspaper of general circulation in the Township, the first publication to be not more than 30 days and the second publication shall not be less than seven days from the date of the hearing.
(2) 
By mailing a notice thereof to every resident or association of residents of the Township who shall have registered their names and addresses for this purpose with the Zoning Hearing Board.
(3) 
The notices shall state the general nature of the proposed amendment.
Whenever a landowner who desires to challenge, on substantive grounds, the validity of this chapter or map or any provision thereof, which prohibits or restricts the use or development of land in which he/she has an interest submits to the Board of Commissioners a curative amendment with a written request that his challenge and proposed amendment be heard and decided, it shall be the duty of the Board of Commissioners to hold a public hearing thereon within 60 days of said request, notice of said hearing to be given as provided in § 295-3001.
At such public hearing, an opportunity to be heard shall be given to any citizen and all parties in interest.
No petition for an amendment shall be accepted, if based upon the same information, within one year of the date of the original decision.
